Extol ist eine progressive Metalband aus Norwegen, gegründet 1993 in Bekkestua bei Oslo. Die Band ist bekannt für ihre einzigartige Mischung aus Death Metal, Progressive Metal und melodischen Elementen sowie für technisch anspruchsvolles Songwriting. Nach mehreren Besetzungswechseln veröffentlichte Extol fünf Studioalben, darunter Burial (1998) und Synergy (2003), die internationalen Respekt in der Metal-Szene erlangten. Nach einer Pause kehrten sie 2013 mit dem selbstbetitelten Album Extol zurück und gelten bis heute als eine der einflussreichsten christlichen Metalbands Skandinaviens.
Extol is a progressive metal band from Norway, founded in 1993 in Bekkestua near Oslo. The band is known for its unique blend of death metal, progressive metal and melodic elements, as well as for its technically demanding songwriting. After several line-up changes, Extol released five studio albums, including Burial (1998) and Synergy (2003), which gained international respect in the metal scene. After a hiatus, they returned in 2013 with the self-titled album Extol and are still considered one of Scandinavia's most influential Christian metal bands.
